 Prepare To Be Impressed

Nestled in the pines of northeast Georgia, 60 miles northeast of Atlanta, sits the town that Georgia's forefathers designated the seat of knowledge for the entire state. Among the appropriately Greek revival architecture lies a thriving college town of culture, refinement and energy.

Downtown Athens is home to scores of restaurants, live music venues, shops and boutiques. The Athens nightlife has a long tradition of music and entertainment that has brought forth several national musical acts. Athens is also home to a thriving arts scene, and local art adorns many restaurants and shops in town.

Athens has a long, illustrious tradition of hosting meetings, and many of the early important meetings were associated with the University of Georgia. However, with the advent of The Classic Center, Athens is hosting bigger and even more prestigious meetings and conventions.

The Right Place for Great Events

In addition to being a highly technical and functional space, The Classic Center owes much of its appeal to the thriving town center just steps away. With Athens being the home of the state's flagship university, many groups experience and attendance increase when convening in "The Classic City."

While Athens is well known as the home of the Georgia Bulldogs and as housing a renowned live music scene, it also is known for its lovely gardens and specialty nurseries, display and performing arts, historical neighborhoods (15 on the National Register of Historic Places), fine dining and shopping.
