The Classic Center Green Information
The Classic Center remains committed to our “green initiative” to operate our facilities in the most energy efficient manner possible and to utilize green products and services when appropriate.
Water conservation is the use of low flow faucets, hands-free motion sensor faucets for high-volume restrooms and outdoor computerized irrigation systems.
The Recycling Program is committed to a staff and visitor program including cardboard, scrap paper, newspaper, plastic and glass bottles, aluminum cans, toner cartridges and wooden pallets.
Energy efficiency is energy audits conducted by Georgia Power, use of compact fluorescent light bulbs, computerized climate control systems and motion sensor lighting controls.
Recycled Materials & Local Resources
Recycled materials and local resources were used for office supplies and equipment obtained through refurbished inventory or recycled materials and goods and services purchased locally to avoid transportation associated waste.
Urban area location planned to encourage pedestrian access to retail, entertainment, lodging and restaurants and to provide alternative transportation choices over automobiles.
Monitoring Indoor Air Quality
We have 100% smoke free facility, through the use of pleated air filters with regular replacement and energy saving heat recovery units for fresh air capture.
Tree Canopy is a facility property established with dozens of mature trees within the landscape design contributing to the reduction of carbon dioxide pollutants, storm water run-off control and soil infiltration and providing a pleasing sense of space and place.

The Classic Center received recognition as a Green Meetings Site by ConventionSouth. Meeting planners can feel confident that Green Meetings Approved by ConventionSouth cities, hotels and facilities conserve energy and fuel, reduce product use, reuse products, recycle products and use local products when available. And, Green Meetings Approved by ConventionSouth cities, hotels and facilities can assist groups to reduce their carbon footprint on the destination while in town for the meeting.
