Four students receive scholarships from the 2023 Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund

ATHENS, Ga - The Classic Center Cultural Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2023 Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund: Haynes Baker, University of Georgia; McKenna Ezekiel, Athens Community Career Academy, Athens Technical College, and the University of Georgia; Emma Lucas, University of Georgia; Aniya Winston, Athens Community Career Academy.

The Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund provides up to $25,000 to individuals interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality, event, music, or sports management industry. The Classic Center Cultural Foundation awards over $60,000 in annual community grants and scholarships in the areas of hospitality, performing, and visual arts.

“Paul Martin and this scholarship fund are an essential part of the vision and establishment of the continuum of hospitality education, which meets individuals where they are in their career path to teach them the necessary skills to succeed in the hospitality industry,” said Beth Bryant, Director of The Classic Center Cultural Foundation.

  • The Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund was established to honor Paul Martin and his lifelong contributions to Athens. 
  • Paul Martin supports both classroom curriculum and hands-on training and feels students receive the best education when these two tactics are combined.
  • Paul Martin was a member of The Classic Center Authority Board from 1996 to 2004. After serving on The Classic Center Authority Board, Martin became a Board Emeritus member of The Classic Center Cultural Foundation Board of Directors, a lifelong status.
