Executive Assistant 
Department or Section: Administration
General Responsibilities: The Executive Assistant is responsible for performing all administrative and secreatrial duties for the Executive Director; including, but not limited to: screening the Executive Director's phone calls, meeting and greeting all guests arriving in the reception area, typing correspondence, word processing, mailing items, and performing all administrative duties as required by the Executive Director. This position seeks to anticipate  the needs of the office and strives to streamline and increase the efficiency of the Executive Director.
This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
1. Minimum of four (4) years experience in executive assistant role.
2. Minimum high school eduation or equivalent. College, vocational or business school preferred.
3. Ability to follow directions with minimum instructions. Ability to work independently and with a team when necessary.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Knowledgeable of general office computer programs. Able to troubleshoot general issues.

Lead House Guard (Full-Time Position)
General Description: This position provides leadership within our in-house security team at the facility. The House Guards survey the premises during their respecitve shift and are also responsible for additional duties during emergency procedures. This position reports directly to the Security Supervisor.
  1. Assist visitors and serve as concerned public relations representative.
  2. Protect personnel on the premises.
  3. Serve as deterrent to person's intent on committing criminal acts. Protect proprietary and classified information. Look for and report potential hazards. Restrict access to unauthorized people.
  4. Observe and take immediate action to use of illegal drugs and inappropriate consumption of alcohol.
  5. Monitor materials leaving the facility, helping to ensure that company property does not leave without proper authorization.
  6. Assist the Security Supervisor with ensuring proper staffing levels are maintained at each event.
  7. Work with management to collect, sort and review incoming House Guard resumes.
  8. All other duties as assigned.

  2. Customer service skills, experience in team oriented environment
  3. This position requires frequent walking around the facility, and lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
  4. Able to see, hear and write in English.

Event Coverage Guard
This position is a part-time position (approximately 10 to 25 hours per week, depending on events) scheduled though The Classic Center Security office. This position will be responsible for the safety and security of the patrons, guests and employees of The Classic Center during various events that require extra security guards to maintain safety at the facility.

Director of Sales - Convention and Visitors Bureau
This position’s primary task is to target, solicit, and attract social, leisure, sports, and meeting/convention business to Athens to increase general hotel occupancy, thereby enhancing the economic impact to our community.  Focus is on group business.  The position also manages and mentors any and all sales positions within the CVB and reports to the CVB director.

Engineering Assistant

The Engineering Assistant will directly assist the Director of Engineering & IT as well as the Lead Engineer regarding the overall daily maintenance of The Classic Center. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: general light duty facility maintenance, inventory coordination, assistance with distribution of trade show power requests, preventative maintenance program, contracted service coordination, telephone systems, internet connectivity and lighting. This position will assist with the completion of daily work orders within the department. This is a part-time position and reports directly to the team of Lead Engineers.

Event Attendant
The Event Executer/Attendant will be responsible for the execution of all planning within the EPS documents created by Event Planners, controlling events within The Classic Center as assigned and shall monitor the logistical interfacing of these events, to include, but not limited to: Taking payment for the event if necessary, Meeting/communicating with clients, attend all Operation’s meetings, preparing event outlines, and such other functions and duties as required by the Director of Operations.  Position reports directly to the Director of Operations. 
  1. Maintain a productive work schedule as required by events assigned by the Director of Operations.
  2. Follow the Event Planner’s detailed written outlines and instructions for events as required.
  3. Monitor assigned event requirements as interfaced with other events and activities scheduled in The Classic Center.
  4. Study all prepare detailed scaled drawings illustrating event requirements and other event documents.
  5. Coordinate equipment distribution, (drape, tables, chairs, staging, microphones, etc.) as required.
  6. Notify Director of Operations of facilities or equipment in need of repair or replacement.
  7. Interact with functional unit heads and other Classic Center staff in a courteous, cooperative and professional manner.
  8. Serve as the primary contact for the client during their event at the Classic Center.
  9. Informed, targeted, and actively involved to assist in reaching goals set forth from the       Director of Operations in regards to departmental sales objectives.
  10. Proficient in all areas of life safety in accordance with operational policy and                    procedures.
  11. Work irregular schedule as required ensuring proper supervision of all events and activities scheduled in The Classic Center.
  12. Such other duties, functions, and special projects as assigned by the Director of Operations of The Classic Center. 
  1. Minimum high school education or equivalent. A college degree is preferred. Additional years of experience may serve as substitute on basis of two (2) years’ experience for one (1) year of college.
  2. Ability to demonstrate competence in basic math, written communications, verbal communication, and basic drafting.
  3. Ability to demonstrate supervisory skills.

Special Events Intern
The Classic Center marketing department is looking for an intern for Fall 2015. This position is a non-paid position. In general, the hours will be set around the intern’s schedule and will include 15-20 hours per week in the office. Some nights and weekend work may be required during events.
Responsibilities include:
  • Assist the Special Events Coordinator with event correspondence
  • E-mail marketing
  • Assist with event promotions
  • Assist with designing event set-up
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired (but not required) qualifications:
  • Experience with Special Events and Event Planning
  • Ability to provide and work from your own laptop
  • Experience with Excel

Sports Marketing Intern 
The Classic Center marketing department is seeking a sports marketing intern for the 2015-2016 UGA Hockey season, which runs from September 2015 to January 2016. This is a non-paid position. Must be available to work 15-20 hours per week, including nights and weekends, as work schedule is based upon the 2015-2016 home hockey schedule, which is included below. Some office time also required each week, in preparation of upcoming games. Schedule is subject to change (game times, dates, and opponents) but there will be a total of 12 home games during the season.
Responsibilities include:
  • Serving as point person for the media during each hockey game
    • Contact person for last minute parking passes, extra press passes, questions regarding where media can shoot, where the media workroom is located
  • Making sure media workroom is stocked before and throughout each game hockey
  • Taking photos during each hockey game to be used on social media
  • Serving as point person for all mascots at each hockey game
  • Helping with hockey box seats and hospitality suite check-in, and occasionally suite setup as needed
  • Assist with coordinating logistics of both The Classic Center’s hockey and football box seat initiatives, to include professional email correspondence with clients
  • Other operational duties that may come up on a per game basis
